…. but we’re in full bloom here at the studio.

Meet Karsyn, a scrumptious little stocking stuffer who made her appearance just a week before Santa made his. A truly special delivery!

Below are some of my favorites from her session. Once they have a chance to mail out birth announcements, I’ll share those as well.

It’s not too soon to get on the calendar for a session this February through Summer. I only take a set number of newborns per month to ensure my schedule is flexible enough to photograph them during the first 5-10 days after birth. It’s best to schedule your Signature Newborn or Baby’s First Year Package during the second or third trimester to ensure a spot on the calendar.

I have a host of new creative ideas and compositions ready for the next set of newborns as well!

SPECIAL BONUS: If you’ve read this far, are pregnant and considering custom newborn photography, then mention this blog post when you call to schedule your session and receive two complementary, custom-designed accordian wallet books with your reserved (and paid) creative session fee. While the actual session will take place 5-10 days after birth, to take advantage of this special bonus, your session must be booked and creative session fee received no later than midnight Central time, January 14, 2011. Newborn photography sessions make wonderful baby shower gifts as well – ask me about gift certificates or a gift registry.

I can’t think of a sweeter gift for the holidays than this little guy. I’m betting mom, dad and big sister agree!

On a side note, I may be short on words over the next week in theses blog posts, but there are so many great sessions to showcase all the way back to summer, that I have to streamline things a bit if I’m ever going to get caught up. So if you haven’t yet seen your session blogged or Facebooked, don’t fret – It’s coming soon!

The most beautiful lips on a newborn girl I think I’ve ever seen. And that perfect little round head and big brown eyes.

This was a studio newborn session – an “older newborn” session as she was right about 6 weeks when we shot these, and I’m loving that we got so many serene “awake” shots. As luck would have it, she also blessed us with a few sleepy smiles too. I’m always so curious about what goes on in those newborn daydreams.

Now that most of the holiday cards and orders have been delivered or are off to the lab, I can get back to the business of blogging. So many wonderful sessions to share … babies, families, siblings, high school seniors and commercial work. And I have an entire new blogsite (that’s a blog plus a website rolled into one) that will launch soon too.

In the  meantime, enjoy sweet Catherine and some of my favorites from her custom photography session.

The whole time we were shooting this high school senior session, I had that Bruno Mars song floating in my head.

When I see you smile, the whole world stops and stares for awhile, ‘cuz girl you’re amazing – just the way you are.

It seems tailor made for her in both the path she’s taken to arrive at her senior year and the journey she’ll embark upon as a college freshman. I am certain the sky is the only limit in this next chapter of her life. And, thanks to Bruno Mars, she’s got a soundtrack to go along with it.

Meet Sidney, Class of 2011.

I love his name – and what a sweet boy he was to photograph. This is the season where I’m short on words due to the insane time crunch, so I’ll let the images do the talking. Suffice it to say, Maclin is welcome in front of this lens any time. Can’t wait to watch him grow!

And that beautiful vintage green carriage was a thrift store find for $40. (Yes, I squealed too when I saw it.)

To say she was smiley was an understatement. Little Miss Anna must’ve been dreaming about wonderful things during our session because we caught that sly little grin (a little “Elvis” in there) more than once. Love her!

Enjoy a few of my favorites from her recent Signature Newborn session. And, remember, if you’re expecting a little one, newborn sessions are booked during the second or third trimester to ensure a spot on the calendar. I like to photograph newborns during the first 10 days of life when they are most easily molded into those sleepy, curly poses.
