It was just a sunny Friday morning. Just a big golden field. Just a little blue chair. Just two beautiful children and their gorgeous mom.

Just perfect.

Next up on the blog:  Sneaks from several holiday card sessions, Brekken’s 6-month session and Taylor’s high school senior session (trust me, these are worth every minute of the wait!)

That’s how much she’s lost. About 150 lbs to be exact. And she’s gained a whole new outlook on life in the process.

I first met Laura when we conducted her daughter’s high school senior photography session nearly two years ago. Since that time, she’s taken up fitness, kept a regular personal trainer schedule, joined a local boxing club and lost the equivalent of a whole person. I’m so proud of her! She kicks a**, literally. So much so that she was recently featured on a local news segment about Title Boxing Club success stories.

So we set out to commemorate her recent birthday and capture her new attitude – and body – with a fun downtown session. I’d say she rocked it. Way to go, Laura!

It’s officially the busiest photography season (for me anyway), so lots more to come on the blog. Brit and Denise: You’re next on the blog!

I’ve been waiting – and excited! – to blog these images while mom chose shots for her custom holiday card design. (I’ll post the actual card once I’m sure they’ve been mailed out). I love this family and you’ve seen them before … in a session we did this past summer. This current session was a “mini” for the sole purpose of getting a great family image for the card, but we got lucky and snagged several wonderful shots of a Sunday afternoon, two little beauties with eyes as big as saucers (I know there’s not a soul that would disagree with me) and a couple of ice cream cones. What more could you ask for?

Get ready for a slew of blog postings this week and next as I get caught up on sessions and holiday ordering. Whew! It will be great to talk to my photographer friends again as well considering we’re all a little crazy this time of year. I’ll be posting many of the custom-designed holiday cards clients chose this year just as soon as I’m sure they’ve been mailed out, and a birth announcement as well. In the meantime, here’s an overdue “sneak peek” (not really a peek now as they’ve seen their full gallery, but a peek for you) of a really awesome family simply wanting pics of everyone together. If you’re a parent of high-school/college-aged kids, you know exactly what I’m talking about. And I think we snagged the last great fall-themed background before the colors disappeared and all the leaves dropped. I enjoyed our session tremendously and, despite the frigid cold, we managed to warm things up with plenty of smiles. Thanks, gang, for a wonderful morning!

That’s exactly what I said when Sean Tevis e-mailed to tell me that he had just completed an interview with the Los Angeles Times about his very unique campaign fund raising tactic (a cartoon you have to see here). They asked for photos to accompany his interview and he was happy to oblige with several from our recent session. Check out his story and one of our images below! You can read the full story as well. Definitely enough to put a smile on my face on a rainy Monday!
