“S” is for sneak peeks … [Kansas City child ~ engagement photography]
And “sizzle” …..

And “sweet” ….

Definitely stay tuned for more from each of these sessions over the next week and more sneak peeks tomorrow from several other sessions last week. Wow!
I can honestly say post-processing this session was like one little gift after another. I’d no sooner open one image and get those goosebumps photographers get when we “just know” it’s one of the best of the session … and then I’d see the next image where there was that look, or sunshine framing the hair just so … or laughter as if no one was watching. It didn’t hurt one bit that they are stunningly beautiful. And it would have been easy to capture just that. But it’s my goal to capture the relationships between people or simply between one human being and my lens. It’s the whole philosophy behind art and soul.
Fortunately, storytelling behind the lens was easy with these two … they are so much in love and so eagerly awaiting their new arrival. And, they were game to capture the artfully intimate side of pregnancy as well as the light-hearted. I love that! Here are a few more I just had to post and a full slideshow. Enjoy!

Because no one said …
… you can’t be eight weeks away (yes, just eight weeks – that’s not a typo) from delivering a baby and also be one hot mama.
Because pregnant = beautiful.
Enjoy this sneak peek and watch for more later in the week as I finish post-processing this session.

… and you all know the rest of that saying. It has a double meaning with this post because she’s been super, super patient this week while I post-processed sessions conducted before hers and even peeled myself away from Photoshop to have dinner out with my dear husband. So it’s my hope that these images were well worth the wait. We got so lucky with this session in that beautiful light you get the hour before sunset. And the old vintage car was seriously a photographer’s dream … well, at least this photographer’s dream. You all know my love of things shabby, chippy and just plain run down, be it doors, buildings, chairs or cars.
But I digress …
Melissa and Mike will tell you good things definitely come to those who wait. Things like butterflies in your stomach, an embarrassed blush from a whisper and that special kind of smile only certain people ellicit from us. Oh yeah … and then there’s love. They’re tying the knot in October and I couldn’t be happier for them.
Enjoy some of my favorites images below and a special slideshow, too. And thanks, M&M, for waiting a little longer for these good, good things.

And because she still doesn’t believe she’s that beautiful. To which I say a snappy “Girl, puh-leeze.”
(I think we can put that one to rest, don’t you?) And because patience isn’t her virtue. Come to think of it, it’s not mine either. Must run in the family.
But, my oh my … isn’t she glowing … You’ll have to wait until the weekend for the rest of this amazing engagement session and the full story. But for now, here’s one that caught my eye!

Perhaps the last great Fall weekend … and two furbabies
Aren’t these four the cutest?!? “Mom” and “Dad” were looking for just the right holiday card image and we managed to capture several on Saturday morning … As I sit here writing this post having been in and out of the blustery cold all day today, I’m pretty certain we took advantage of the last great Fall weekend and those amazing colors. They brought their two furbabies along for the fun and they did so well! And those squirrels and ducks at the park were no match for the squeaky toy turkey when it came to getting their attention (the dogs, not mom and dad
) Here’s a quick preview of some of my favorites. Your gallery is uploading as I type this. It was so nice meeting you!
