I love to hear the nicknames parents-to-be give their babies prior to birth.

Some of my recent favorites have been “Baby Green Bean,”Taxi,” (there’s a story behind that one, I promise, and it’s not what you might think) and this beautiful girl who, before she acquired her legal name, Penelope, was simply known as “Jellybean.”  She was determined to stay wide awake during much of our newborn photography session – which has me thinking there’s just something about the little winter girl babies. I’ve shot a string of newborn boys over the past 6 weeks and they’ve all been champion eaters and sleepers. Here’s to hoping the trend continues!

In the meantime, enjoy several of my favorites from Penelope’s session. Mom brought that beautiful crocheted blanket from Anthropologie and I desperately tried to squirrel it away from her as we wrapped up. The colors and texture had me drooling – like pretty much everything else Anthropologie.
