Newborn: Miss Lunden makes her debut and the blog is back

They say when it rains, it pours, but I’m never one to even utter the words “what could possibly happen n*xt” and tempt fate … even after a week-long blog hacking debacle and another week of the worst stomach flu I’ve ever had. Those are the kinds of things you can’t plan for – and even though they hit simultaneously in the busiest possible month, I’m back on track and slowly climbing out of the work that has piled up in the meantime. I had to keep reminding myself that although I’m sure there are many that hang on my every word (and picture) posted here (um … not), it’s not a matter of life or death, just incredibly inconvenient. Given the bigger problems facing the world, I’ll take inconvenient (and four days in bed with a bad stomach) any day.

So, kicking off my attempt to un-bury myself is Little Miss Lunden. Her mom isĀ  a photographer, too, and we were conspiring on all sorts of ideas for her newborn session. I happened upon this colorful vintage apple basket at an antique store in downtown Kansas City and knew I would find a use for it in an upcoming session. When Mom described an heirloom blanketĀ  made out of old ties, I knew we had a perfect match.

These are some of my favorites from her session – enjoy!
