Meet Kenadie {Kansas City baby photographer}
She slept the entire session with the exception of nursing and – the photographers reading this will appreciate – peed on me at the very end of nearly 2 1/2 hours. That usually happens to someone (or the bean bag) at least once during every newborn session and usually happens a lot earlier. I tell all new parents to expect a #1 or #2 at some point and we clean up and keep shooting. But little Kenadie was so close to proving me wrong! All shots were natural light in Kenadie’s nursery thanks to one beautiful window, my 24-70L/2.8 and my 50/1.4 lenses (ISO 400 average).
Her delivery was anything but smooth sailing, but I am sure I speak for Mom when I say it was all so completely worth it. Meet baby Kenadie. Just six days old and pure perfection.
I couldn’t help but wonder if she wasn’t thinking “Oh my, none for me, I couldn’t eat another bite … my belly is sooo full right now …” in this next one:

So many great photos! The third one is my favorite. I’ve only had 3 newborn sessions so I’m sure that’s why I’ve been spared thus far, but during my first newborn session, daddy got pooped on! And, I place a crib mattress pad over my beanbag to protect it.
Definitely have to cover the beanbag, Lacey! I know exactly what you’re talking about and have multiple waterproof crib pads at the ready for just those moments! Thanks so much for the great comments.

Awwww … thanks, Britanie and Tisha. You both had (have) beautiful newborns in your own right. I’m thinking I could just do newborns and high school seniors all the time and be happy as a clam.
Kami, I love the pictures you took of my Granddaughter Kenadie. This is our first Grandchild and I think you caught some awesome shots of her. I don’t know how I will decide which ones to get. You are very talented. The one of my son kissing her brought tears to my eyes. You are so talented.
