An urban holiday {Kansas City child+family photography}

I held on posting this session at the time we conducted it late last year because we were designing holiday cards and didn’t want to spoil the surprise for friends and family. Thank goodness for little yellow sticky notes, because today I remembered that I still hadn’t shared this session with you – and these two are way too cute not to share! It was freezing cold the morning we shot these and I’m super impressed by the patience of their little guy as we explored downtown, wiped runny noses and aimed to get shots for their card. We ended up with so many more wonderful images than I would have imagined given the chilly morning. Below are my favorites from the session, the front and back of their chosen holiday card design and a 10×20 storyboard created as well. The storyboards are a terrific way to display multiple images with text in one fine art print mounted on 2mm styrene, durable masonite or lightweight “standout” board.

Enjoy this beautiful family and our urban adventure!

I chose the shot below to showcase the “Contact Me” section of my website with the title “Give me a shout” …. she’s actually in an old phone booth, how cool is that?

The final front and back of their custom-designed holiday card (we selected a gritty old typewriter font to go along with the more “shabby” downtown feel:

Site is working again! {Kansas City photographer}

So my faith in technology has been restored. And, in the midst of Day Two with no site, I found a human haven in Tech Support “Dave” … he was simply awesome! Thank you, Dave. My main website and client proofing area are working again. Hallelujah!

Gotta love technology {Kansas City photographer}

Just a quick note to let you know the main website: www.kamibradyphotography.com is down right now. That includes the client proofing/ordering area. I’ve filed a trouble ticket with my hosting provider and – cross your fingers – it’s just a glitch associated with an upgrade they’re running on the servers. I’ll post here once it’s resolved. In the meantime, feel free to contact me directly with any questions at kami@kamibradyphotography.com.

Meet Kenadie {Kansas City baby photographer}

She slept the entire session with the exception of nursing and – the photographers reading this will appreciate – peed on me at the very end of nearly 2 1/2 hours. That usually happens to someone (or the bean bag) at least once during every newborn session and usually happens a lot earlier. I tell all new parents to expect a #1 or #2 at some point and we clean up and keep shooting. But little Kenadie was so close to proving me wrong! All shots were natural light in Kenadie’s nursery thanks to one beautiful window, my 24-70L/2.8 and my 50/1.4 lenses (ISO 400 average).

Her delivery was anything but smooth sailing, but I am sure I speak for Mom when I say it was all so completely worth it. Meet baby Kenadie. Just six days old and pure perfection.

I couldn’t help but wonder if she wasn’t thinking “Oh my, none for me, I couldn’t eat another bite … my belly is sooo full right now …” in this next one:
