“Unity”
We had an amazing time Saturday morning shooting in a place that, looking back, I’m not sure how I missed living in KC for nearly nearly 14 years. I was struck by the awe of the location … the old stonework … the bridges … the beautiful trees and tranquil setting. Throw in a couple of boys exploring anything and everything and you’ve got a recipe for non-stop discovery. I titled this post “Unity” because of our spectacular location, but also the really wonderful thing I witnessed as I watched these two run and jump and shout and pause and study: It didn’t matter how far they would go, how high they would climb, how loud they would shout … inevitably they kept gravitating back to the solid, zen-like presence of their mom. As a mom to a fearless 18-month-old, I find myself with a million parenting questions every day. But I just watched this mom calmly “let go” as they explored everything around us and they inevitably always found themselves right back by her side. It was the power of motherhood exemplified and truly a gift to watch. Thanks for the wonderful time spent Saturday morning. These are a few of my favorites … Enjoy!

Collages make great gifts!
Here are two sample collages that make it easy to display more than one image in a single print ready for framing. All colors, fonts, sayings and layouts are customizable. Have an idea? I’m pretty sure we can do it – just ask!
The first is a 10×20 collage with three 5×5 images. The second is shown as a 16×20 with four images: one 5×7 and three smaller 3×5′s. There are unlimited possibilities and these make great gifts for loved ones and unique ways to showcase your images.

Favorite colors, favorite people
I absolutely LOVE this time of year! We went “back home” last weekend to visit family and I was lucky enough to spend some time with my best childhood friend and her family. She was the very first kid I met the day I moved to a new town in 7th grade (could there be a more awkward time to join a new class?!?) Thank God the bus stop was in front of her house! I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have survived that first year of junior high as the new kid without her constant support. And she’s been in my life ever since. She requested some traditional family images and we found the perfect setting in a spot that, believe it or not, I had never visited in the whole time I was growing up in the area. The colors were fantastic and I can only imagine they’ll be even more spectacular in the coming weeks. I’ve known her daughter since she was born and she’s truly blossomed into a beautiful young lady. You hear the term “good people” thrown around a lot these days, but these are truly three of my all-time favorite “good people.” Thanks for the awesome Saturday morning – enjoy your sneak peeks! I’ll have your images in your gallery before the weekend, so watch your inbox.
I’m trying out a new way to display Sneak Peeks below – check it out and please let me know if you like this version or the old way of displaying sneak peek images one below the other as in previous posts. Cheers!
